how to do a proper set up?

    right, ive decided im gonna do a proper set up of my basses and guitars this summer after my a levels.
    problem: i havent much idea what to do and do it properly, and havent got any musician friends to teach me. and NO im not paying for a shop to do it, i want to learn.

    Any advice guys?

    Also from Wales - but needing a "how to shield your bass so that even deaf aid loops cannot mess with it" guide.

    Any clues as to a good one?

    maybe you could consult an electronics shop such as maplins or maybe a music shop such as dawsons? perhaps they have some advice and i really hope they solve your problem :) sorry i couldnt offer more :(

    The harsh reality is that I am fed up of paying people to do stuff which just does not work. It is me and a soldering iron from now on.
