how to establish trade in value

    I want to get a new spector 5 string bass, I have a few basses, and one has to go, how do you establish trade in value on a bass?? So you know when negotiating.

  4. You will get significantly more for your gear if you sell it yourself online either here or at other bass for sale sites. :bassist:

    I'd figure what it's selling for on the second hand market by looking at eBay, here, and as many other online sources as you can, and then I'd figure GC will give you half of that or less.
     
  6. I went to guitar center and they said 2/3 of 2/3, so less than half (4/9). They do that because they give you 2/3 of what they can get for the bass, which is about 2/3 of new price. But this can vary for the price of the bass, so this is just kinda like a guideline.
