I just bought a Jazz bass and I can tell the strings are a little smaller then the strings I had on my other bass. But I like it. So how can I find out what the gauge of these strings are?

They are roundwound Fender strings colored silver. Any idea what they are called?

Well if you bought it new from a Fender dealer, ask them.

I believe that the string gauge/type for each model is listed at the Fender site under product specs.

You can also use a micrometer to measure string diameter.
