how to grow further

    Hey people,
    i've got a problem
    i have played bass for 2 years now and i finished all the beginner books...
    since i can't meet my teacher so often i'll have to come up with my own practice material.
    but i have no idea what to do to keep practicing etc..
    can you help me?

    What kind of stuff do you play? If you really want to grow the best thing to do at this point is to play something else. Try some classical, or latin, or jazz, or prog metal, or fusion. Basically anything you haven't really listend to or played much of to this point. Try to learn a few songs and pick out at least one element of the style you really like. Then move on to something else. You can always return to something later if it reall draws you, now is the time to sample a lot of different styles.
