How to identify a 75 Jazz Bass

    Hi. Where can I find detailed pictures of a original 1975 Jazz Bass? Some guy is offering me what is supposed to be a 75 jazz but I am not sure if its legit.

  3. they are usually natural ash with a male neck and fretboard with either pearl or black block inlays

    I know better inspection is needed but I will do that if this does not bring any red flags.

    I don't see any major red flags. Definitely worth a closer inspection. On the headstock logo, is there a gold outline around the black "Fender"? It doesn't look like it in the (blurry) pic. If not, is that normal?

    It's probably legit. I expected to see the three bolt micro-tilt neck on a '75, but after doing some reading, I see that basses were still being turned out in '75 with the four bolt neck.

    300,000s to 500,000s 1973
    400,000s to 500,000s 1974 to 1975
    500,000s to 700,000s 1976

    and ya id expect 3 bolt too but looks alright
