How to make an A/B footswitch

Discussion in 'Effects [BG]' started by Disco_Gee, Jan 6, 2004.

  1. I am wanting to make an A/B footswitch for a friend. Very simple, two inputs to select from, one output running to amp. I know a bit about electronics, but i am looking for a wiring diagram or something to help me. I also need to know if there are any tricks or traps that I should know about. Can anyone help? suggest a website or something? thanks!

    Here's a Mike Fuller Design.
If you don't need the LED indicators, you can go with a more readily
available DPDT switch and leave out the LEDs, the resistors and the battery
and still have a terrific AB for about $10.

i would like to build one of thoose a/b boxes, but I need it to do the opposite. I need it to have 2 inputs and 1 output. I want to be able to switch which inputs go to my amp. Any suggestions?

It is exactly the same... only reversed... I use stock ab switches that way all the time...

I noticed that it listed mono ans stereo jacks. Which are the mono and which are the stereo jacks. Im guessing that the inputs will be mono and the outputs will be stereo. Is this correct?
