How to non-destructively smooth a satin neck?

I have an Ibanez RKB900 P/J clone. I love the tone but the neck is getting on my nerves. It's not that it's a p-neck that bothers me, it's the ultra-raw satin feeling unlike Fender sating necks. Whereas Fender poly satin necks (ex. modern mim jazz and precision bass) are slick and smooth, this Ibanez feels like kinda rough and unfinished. It's definitely finished - there's a sheen when you look at from an angle.

What can I do to make it smoother but still satiny without destroying the neck? It's a 22 fret non-overhanging neck, so swapping it for something else is difficult. Fender Amer Deluxe 22 fret necks good replacements but are expensive and hard to find.
