I have 2 Ampeg 8x10s, and I'm planning to sell one.

However, in the meantime, I was looking for suggestions on how to run 'em at the same time. I have access to adequate space and I just wanna piss off my bandmates. Hahaha...more ME!

    Thoughts?

The way they were meant to be powered, with an SVT.

That's a good answer, but I mean in terms of ohms and wattage and the like.

I don't currently have an SVT. I have a 500watt Genz Benz head right now.

Can you run a 2ohm load?

    I think so.

It says so on the back of the head, but I don't know how to change it.

If it says it'll do 2 ohm, then it should.
If it's SS, then I don't think you have to switch anything at all. Plug and play.

Should I go from the head to each cab, or from head-to-cab-to-cab?

Does it matter...I've just never had 2 before, and I don't wanna blow anything up.

Assuming all connections are in parallel, it doesn't matter.
Absolute safest bet would be to do a run from each output of the head to each cab. I don't think I've ever seen a series connection on a head or a cab, though.

Two 70's SVT's should do the trick nicely :D

Two? One would be perfect. Less to muck around with too!
I can't WAIT to get my '69 all rebuilt :hyper:. Should do it this summer, I think.

Just as a safety precaution, it's better to go from head to cab for both connections. Electronically, they're the exact same, but if, by some freak occurrence, the jacks or internal cabling connecting the jacks on the first cab get damaged, it will kill the signal to both cabs. If both cabs are connected direct to the head, one of them could fry up and the other one would keep going. This is a very, very unlikely occurrence, though.
