How to raise action

    How exactly does one go about raising the strings. Is this something I could do on my own?

    Take a look at the bridge of your bass (on the body).
    Notice the cylindrical objects, the strings go over them in a little groove. There are two little allen screws, turn clockwise to raise, counter-clockwise to lower.
