How to reach the tone of this bass

I was watching bass videos the whole day, and i came across this video

i totally fell in love with the tone so much i made an account here, because i want to know how to achieve a tone like this, i really cant diference "mellow" from "brigth" etc

can you tell me please how could i achieve a similar tone to this, amp settings wise and string wise? (im about to get new strings)

i have a p bass, i know the one in the video is a jazz, but i got to work with what i have
