How do I reduce my string tension but stay in standard? If this is a setup question let me know! Current strings are Ernie balls, 50-105.
Is the answer smaller gauge? Im a real novice when it comes to strings, I basically buy Ernie balls cause ive always done that and they dont make my fingers stink

Yes smaller gauge will be more flexible. I find Ernie Ball to be very stiff strings in general in the first place so you could also try a different strings such as Dunlop Super Bright or DR HiBeams or Sunbeams

How much lower gauge before I'll notice a difference? I'm sure its a personal opinion deal but what's your 2 cents

50-105 is on the high end of standard tension. Try a 45-100 set.

Graveyard security my friend. Tabbed disturbed tunes for an audition till 12, paid my bills, researched preamps, and tried to learn to juggle till 1, and then star trek on till 6. All at 14$ an hour. This is the job for lazy people.
