How to stream MP3's from your website

Discussion in 'Recording Gear and Equipment [BG]' started by MKS, Sep 7, 2005.

  1. Hi,

I was looking for an article that would describe how to set up a website so that it streams MP3s rather than downloading them and I came across this very useful article.
    http://www.globalgraffiti.com/demo.htm

Turns out it's really very simple - you upload an MP3 playlist textfile .M3U linking to the appropriate MP3 file and then use that in your hypertext link. Very simple. The other factor is encoding your MP3 at a suitable bitrate that allows the majority of users to stream it without getting bogged down, the article recommends 16kbps.

    Just thought I'd share!
