I bought a used MIM P-bass and want to find out what year it was made. Is there a Fender site that can identify the year by the serial number?

Just ask it...it will tell you. But you have to get really close...they only whisper.

Nah...guys like us (the older guys) had to learn on the gig. You know as well as I do that there is no education like that anymore!!

Bonjo, good luck with your search!

Nothing like really learning, yet.... I'm addicted to hi tek, lite weight, efficient stuff, whether bass gear, computers or cell phones.... I like it!

I don't mind heavier basses though! When I can feel the note resonate through the bass to my abdomen along with hearing it... That's why I play and doesnt matter how old the bass is or what the weight is... IMHO....
