How would you set up your amp for....

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by radiofriendly2k, Jun 18, 2002.

  1. Just wondering how everyone sets up their EQs for different styles of music, ran a little search and i didn't find much so i'll just be all direct an ask.

How would you set up your amps EQ for.....?

    Soft rock
    Ska
    Metal
    Punk/Emo
    Blues
    Jazz

I tend to mess around with my EQ settings too much.. any advice? I've got a few gigs (metal/hard rock) coming up soon and i really wanna cut through the mix better. Guitarist is using a les paul and a marshall 60 watt 2x12 with mids cut. Is there a way i can get through this or do i just have to hit him (by accident, of course) till he changes his mind?

    Thanks for any advice :)

I've found some really interesting ideas in the owner's manuals of SWR amps.

Go to swrsound.com and find a link for manuals. The manual for my Bass 350 opened my eyes to the benefits of a slight boost at 200 Hz to cut through in a rock band.
