How's my slap tone?

  1. :bassist: Its a little thin for my taste, but I use a good bit of midrange from my MM SR4 to make sure I get a good cut. But thats a personal thing. Otherwise it sounds good. However, the little run that you do at 23 sec drops out. it sounds pretty nice, so you might want to get that up in the mix a little more. Phat Groove!! :bassist:
  2. Love it. :)

Don't forget to post the finished song when you're done, OK?

It's to P bassy, it needs some more bridge in there :-\
  4. Yeah, but I don't really see a way to get it more J bassy-sounding since it's a P-bass. I really want that smooth J-bass tone... so probably the only solution is to buy a J-bass. ;)

I think getting a Marcus Miller signature J-bass would really get me that nice slap tone... any other suggestions for basses?

Cool. I like a little more mids in my slap, but that sounds good.

Don't be afraid of the mids,
they'll let you be heard in the mix.

    :meh: :D

You sound fine to me. Your tone is your tone. Just do it and be happy.

But same with other, U could use more mid in your tone :p
to make it a bit fatter and warmer.

For a P Bass, that's a very good tone indeed. In general, it could use more mids, more booty, and more thump. But those are some things that come naturally with a good J bass.
