How's this for a Marcus Miller replacement?

    Keep in mind that the SX is passive, while the MM is active. You could always add a preamp, however. I had a similar SX Jazz, about a year ago or so. It was a decent bass, but having owned that and played a Fender, I would say that the Fender is well worth the extra money it costs.

    Also, the SX weighs 11 pounds. That might not seem like a lot, but the SX I had was annoying by the end of the the first set.
