Any suggestions of a great phaser, i am a big fan for bass solos in my band i have 2 already a chord phaser and the phaser effect of the boss me 50b board but would like something better

  2. Most people here start with a Phase 90. They're around $100. Usually cheaper.

Maxon PH350 is a great phaser. Haven't had to look any further for phasers after getting one.

I Like the Blackout Effectors Whetstone Analog Phaser. Price is about $265.00 new.

yeah, these would probaly also be strong contenders in the battle for great phasers:
    Blackout Effectors Whetstone
    Subdecay Quasar deluxe
    Moog MF103

I haven't tried any of them though.

I just went on a Phaser binge myself. Picked up a Red Witch Moon Phase and the Malekko Omincron Phaser and currently have a Pigtronix EP2. One will win, the other two will end up back in the classifieds.

I liked the Pigtronix EP2 better as an envelope filter.
I didn't like the voicing of the Subdecay Quasar Deluxe.

For cheap, I really liked the Boss PH-3, Step Phasing was cool, selecting the stages, phase up, phase down. Really a solid pedal and I am not the biggest fan of Boss.

Ya the step phasing was my fav thing on the PH3, to bad it got lost in the band mix =/

    I had the EP2, Small Stone, PH3, and EP1.
I regret selling the EP1 but it had a dedicated wall wart and I like all my effects to be powered off of one power source.

  11. This'll sound ridiculous, but I've been really digging the phaser in the Amplitube Irig Fender pack.

I split my signal from my bass into a Fishman AFX Chorus pedal, which gives me two outputs. From there, one cable goes to my amp, the other into Irig and my iPhone 4S, which give me a really cool Ampeg sim. By mixing the Irig with the DI from my amp, I get a nice tone and can apply effects to one signal, leaving the other uneffected.

The Fender phaser is one of the better sounding ones I've heard. The AFX pedal has a cool phaser, too.

I'm quite happy with the simple EHX Small Stone... But I must admit I have a bit of GAS for the Subdecay Quasar DLX

  13. Few phaser threads get by w/o me saying *Try an old DOD*
I have an FX-20C that I LOVE- it can do *subtle fattening/always on* OR *I think I'm gonna be sick* swirly. Also common & fairly cheap- I think I gave $40 for mine, likely got it from a TBer. So...
    Try an old DOD.

another +1 for the EQD Grand Orbiter: FAT analog 4-stage phaser with a killswitch for the dry signal = vibrato.

been eyeballing the Quasar DLX though....but the Grand Orbiter makes more sense to me right now

    Same here!

Edit: the Fender Phaser in Amplitube sound really cool, and with the Ampeg emulation ---- Tempus Fugit tone by Squire :)

    These phasers are my favorites:

    Pigtronix EP-2
    EHX Stereo Polyphase
    EHX Small Stone
MXR Phase 90 script, and all of its many clones
    Finally, my favorite: Moog MF-103

I understand that the 4ms Phaseur Fleur, Lovetone Doppelganger and Mu-Tron Bi-Phase are fine products, but they are as rare as rare gets, so I can't tell you how they play.

Big fan of the MXR EVH 90 but I'd love to try an EBS Dphase.
