I really was gonna give bass/music up for the most part, then I got a phone call from to MD/bassist a young singer whom I seen play in the past. I didn't want to do it.

Well, last night I rehersed with by far the best vocalist I think in my 20 years playing professionally (or semi as it would be now) that I ever played behind.
She WILL be famous. And she's only 15. Yes 15.

Disney is courting her, EMI/Atlantic as well. Other labels too.

Her site does not even come close to what she does. Not even close.
When I went to the site I thought, "Yeah, sorta what I remember from when I saw her last year". Then I got her demo and thought "Hmmm, not bad. I'll give this a go". BTW, I know her dad and he asked me to come on board to help out.

So I put together a band, got them the material.
Then last night happened. Guys, I DO NOT get surprised or stunned to the point that I will blow a part or a change, but last night I literally was stunned and shocked to the point where I did.

Think Christina Aguilara without the "pop diva" and add some heart and a heavy ass does of soul.

Again, the stuff on her site isn't even close.

My God I wish you guys could have heard this girl.
15, five foot tall in heels and a shy little thing as well.

A young singer, who knows what they are doing is very rare. However, the one thing that she may want to be careful of is hurting her vocal chords. I know the singer in my band (exceptional singer, sings with the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, at the age of 15 as well), is allways urged to go easy on his voice, so he doesn't blow it out.

Glad to see your back in the "professional" game now, hope it goes better for you this time.

Randy, did you check slapcrackle's personal info? It appears he's jailbait as well by my (admittedly poor) math. 15 year olds being attracted to 15 year olds is quite OK.

    Play on.

    HAHA!!!
Yeah, she's gonna be a man killer in a few years!!!
BTW Randy, her CD release is Dec 17th. The band is killin'. You should try and bring the "crew" on out.
But it is in Romeo :meh:
    Talk at ya soon.............................

  7. Eh... another Christina Aguwhatever.

Before, and after. Anyone dig the track she did with Herbie Hancock on that duets album he did?

  10. You are incorrect, sir. She sings great, no doubt about it. But since she went skanky, you can clearly see that at no time does her ass leave her body.

My good man, if you read my post correctly, you would clearly see that I stated BEFORE she went as we say "all skanky".
I do recall a time that she had a much more plesent appearring pooper.
Maybe it was just a trick done with todays computer generated animation or just my inability to get beyond that hot little bitch sensation that had taken over my loins.

Hey Mike, who's in the band? I'll be in Traverse City that weekend for an early Christmas celebration so I'll have to catch the next gig. Keep me posted.

Sigh...an artiste, huh? I guess you're not familiar with the term "stepping stone." If Darryl Jones can play with Madonna after playing with Miles Davis, there's no reason to turn down a good gig that pays or one that has a future, regardless of the music. I mean, hey, suit yourself, but in my humble opinion, you probably let a nice opportunity slip through your fingers. Maybe she'll be big, maybe she won't (depends on how much money Daddy is willing to shell out to buy airplay), but it sounds like there's money in it.

I would do it in a heartbeat, even if I didn't like her or her music.

I do a lot of MD-ing for various singers ect.. and when I got this call, I almost didn't take it. I mean the stuff is cool, but not exactly my cup o' Joe. Plus I was looking at doing some other things and don't have a ton of extra time. Then I heard her sing in person.

Well, just my two cents worth...she definetly has a voice and a look....unfortunatly...
    Christina Aguilara....is already here.

Her voice sounds very close in style and the power will catch up in a couple years...

Umm....who at Pearl called you about her??
She never was in a position to have a band behind her before. And she never worked with anyone from Pearl Sound.
She/they talked to Steve Trudell at one point. Briefly. Very briefly. (interesting story, we'll just say things didn't work out)
This is the first time her dad has put forth the effort to back her with a live band.
I've known them for a few years and I don't recall them wanting to market her as a pop diva ala' Brittney Spears. But who knows!
    Some other girl maybe?!?!

  20. I hate to be a kill-joy here, but since when did having talent mean someone was going to make it?

Altho, yes, she does have a few big companies chasing her, nothing happens with the majority of them
