Humbuckers:Soap bars or singlecoil lookalikes?

    Which do you like better tonewise?

    Old school soapbars have good sound and look impressive.Ex:music man humbucker

    New age stacked and split humbuckers that LOOK like P and J pickups.Ex:Dimarzio Ultra Jazz

    For soapbars do you mean exposed or non exposed poles, or both?

    My Hohner has 2 non exposed pole humbuckers and i like the look of them. (the EMG selects). Btw these pickups, though they usualy dont get that good of a rep., have a nice alternative rock/metal tone. They are a bit to growly for jazz or funk, but i use my Hohner when i want that aggresive tone.
