Humbuckers

    Total newbie here when it comes to "technical" stuff. I was just wondering what makes a humbucker a humbucker, and why or why not one.

    Also good brands and prices for upgrading a fender p-bass.

    Please don't reply and say "just get a new bass" because thats not an option.:(

    Geez we need a FAQ. There have to be a few dozen threads on this in the archives?

    Humbucker: Uses multiple coils and magnets arranged in a specific way so that audio-frequency electromagnetic interference (especially 50/60-Hz "hum" that comes from electronic devices powered by mains AC) is greatly reduced.
