Humming Fender BXR 60 Amp fix or replace?

I have a 5 year old Fender BXR 60 combo amp that today, after playing for a couple of hours began to hum. I think its the amp causing the hum because I tried:
    3 different basses
    2 different speaker cords
    Either of the input jacks
Any combination of these worked fine before and the amp has not moved from where is is for 3 years. Now any combination is humming. :help:
The hum is stopped only when the bridge, strings, or tuners are touched on any of the basses while they are plugged in when it's on. There is no hum when the amp is on and nothing is plugged in.

    My three questions are
    1) Any ideas as to what could be a problem in the amp causing the problem?
    2) This is a relatively inexpensive amp - are they fixable?
    3) What might people suggest as an alternative amp - I am happy with the volume output and sound and would like to keep the same or slightly less weight and need to keep the cost of a new one under $500.

Any help with any of the questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
