Hummmm IN MY BASS: Question

Discussion in 'Hardware, Setup & Repair [BG]' started by Big Ce, Jun 21, 2005.

  1. Playas,

I've got a question, I have a MM Fender Jazz Bass. Lately I've noticed a hummm and a very slight poping as if it were caused by static electricity. Thats mainly what it seems like my pickups or even my knobs...it just depends how I turn my knobs.

I wanted to know if there is a simply remedy to address, and if it is how do I correct this problem. I know that it is the bass because my other basses are fine they are as quiet as that fart I just let go... :D

Any help would be great! Thanks in advance!!!

    Peace

    Try changing the battery?

  3. Try twisting the knobs back and forth fast, but don't break anything...that helps sometimes.

Sounds like you should try star grounding. Check out the sticky in the pickups forum. It did wonders for my MIM jazz.

  5. Thanks Beav!!! I will give that a shot.
