hybrid heads

    do you have to take the same precautions with hybrid heads as you do with all tube heads? like waiting for the tubes to cool down before switching it off?

    How'bout the Music Man "backwards" hybrid, with S.S. pre, and valve power section?

    That brings back memories.... I owned one of those... I think it was the 130..... strange design.. but I used it for a couple of years... sounded pretty good.... and still no need to 'let it cool down'.... just turn it off... just like guitarists using tube amps have been doing for 40 years :D

    PS... I don't think many people remember those heads... cool!

    Well, I do... I had the HD 130 Head at the late 70's, it sounded rather good.

    I had the HD150 until about two years ago. No matter what head I used, I kept coming back to the MM. Then I discovered the SWR Silverado Special. . . .
