I’m gonna try a set of Fodera nickels.

  1. I just bought some SIT nickels For my SRX 700 and they sound good but I think I ordered lights by mistake. They are real zingers and have some chorus effect. They don’t seem to calm down.

The Fodera Nickels are great NPS strings. They’re often compared to DR Sunbeams, but with a little more tension. Enjoy!

IMO Fodera Nickels are awesome. I’ve only tried one set, but I was impressed with their tone and lifespan.

This was my exact experience. Fodera nickels were my go to string for many years. Used them on a J and loved the sound and feel of them. Used Sunbeams for a bit as well during that time and found them very interchangeable in terms of tone but the Sunbeams were noticeably more flexible.

  6. I have had the Fodera nickels on the Ibanez for a while now. They still sound beautifully clear and warm. Haven't gigged them yet. The SRX700 is a neck through with alnico pups. I installed an Audere 2 band to replace the stock pre. The sustain is for days and these strings sound wonderful all over the neck. They remind me of Zon Ultra nickels that I had on my FBass a long time ago. I think the Zons had a smaller diameter wrap wire.
