So it went something like this: I was out of the bass world 10-15 years. I return… people still play fenders. I was arguing about fender in a troll thread… and discussing the prominence of quality offshore offerings, someone mentions Dingwall as a canadian brand of bass. So, looking for a five string, and wanting to support or at least check out a canadian brand… i search dingwall. As a traditionalist fender/ric guy… it Nice stuff, not cheap. After a period of mental adjustment… I decide it would be cool to try one out. I am deciding on the combustion in naked ash vs the ng2-3. i do some research… a ton of research, and come across nolly playing “prayer position”. I listen to a few more of his videos, and then some reviews. After a lot of debate between the combustion and ng… I Decide the ng is for me… if only because i loved the hot-rod colors. China, not cheap, but i have to get one as i was hunting for a fiver. I could not resist a great deal on a new 2021 ng2 in ferarri green. meanwhile, nolly’s band periphery i dig, so i buy two albums. always looking for new music and i am in a metal bass/distortion mode. Cool and unique bass tone/style. I do some more searches. I run into him playing as a demo for the darkglass adam pedal. I was looking for an eq pedal. This is an eq, tuner, compressor, distortion in one! Plus it worked as a di box for silent play, and could split my signals into dirty and clean for my bi-amp setup for my non stereo ric bases!!! It was basically everything i wanted plus a compressor. so in the period of 1 week i bought two albums, one pedal, and one bass related to some (talented) dude from two brands that i only learned about this week: darkglass and dingwall. A very forward thinking bass… and a pedal that i think will set a new standard for pedals in the future.
