Very happy with it. Lots of fun. That is all
How would you describe it?
I love mine. It's crazy but still musical. Very strange pedal.
My understanding is that it works like a ring mod but only subtracts the input and carrier frequency as well as having a gain knob to add fuzz.
It's great for Lo-Fi sounds and fun to play around with. I used mine before a Moog LPF with expression control of cutoff for electronica tones.
It's a very fun pedal. No doubt.
Thanks for the review, very informative!
Someone's contesting with Toasted for the sarcasm pedestal...
Don't let RCCollin's hear that.
don't worry, i consider you a colleague in matters of sarcasm, not a competitor
someones ears were burnin!
I've gone back and forth on the Heliotrope. Ultimately I went a different route but I'm still somewhat interested in the Helio, I just have a feeling it would be simply a fun pedal, and not one that got as much use as an actual bit crusher or ringmod. Tayste's demo was what did it for me- if it had an exp input I might have already picked one up out of the classifieds (my favorite part of the demo was him playing while someone else turned the knob- great sound.)
It can't be a review, since it includes no pics or clips, ergo your sarcasm is meaningless
The Heliotrope isn't my most used pedal, but it is my most fun one. Right now I primarily use it for adding cool noise at the beginning or ending of sounds...stomp it on as I'm holing that last note or as we're driving hard at the end of the song.
I'm always thinking about where I can put it though.
Plus I love the way it looks
