After buying a tube amp today I’m confused about if/how I should use my VT Bass DI? Do people sell it or do I use it as another over drive?
I have the same amp and use my VT as my DI. 1. If I adjust my amp settings it doesn't change things for the sound guy. 2. I can get a better amp sound in some ways for the board with it (don't hit me!), and can adjust what the board might need without changing my amp tone. 3. If my amp does need a little something (lows or grind) I can easily add that. Don't get rid of it. At least not for a good while. Then you'll know.
Bass -> VT DI -> ¼” out of VT -> input of V4B Overdrive the input stage of the V4B. Dirt at lower volume levels
I had the same dilemma when I had the first VT pedal 9 years ago and went back to tube Ampegs. I just used it as a dirt box after that, which it excels at once you get past the learning curve.
