Just went for broke and ordered Mr. Bongo 5 with a single coil, a humbucker and lord forgive me - piezo bridge pu. Radiance red with a white pearloid pickguard. Will ship out on the April 20 if all goes as planned. I'm gonna probably have a nerve! breakdown between now and then.

Sorry guys but yer gonna have to hear me singing about another bongo. I needed to buy this so I could add the new signature.

Your bass collection is beginning to get really good, man.

Congrats! Keep me updated. I think you chose wisely.

Thanks guys. Mr. B - I'd have gotten the desert gold but I'd have had to wait too long for it. I was assured the red would make me smile. I've never seen one in real life, only on the EB site and I'm told it looks nothing like that. The desert gold looks nothing like on the site either.

Can't wait to hear the difference btwn the sc/h and the h/h. Dying also to see what the piezo does for it all. I'm gonna have so many great knobs to play with. Oh joy!

    Jack'll win. I think he's got a real job.

Thanks Toasted. Hopefully one day we'll both be swimming in money and we can buy each other basses - as a rememberance of the good ol struggling days. :) Right now Im freaking however and selling everything I own, dirt cheap.

Joe, glad you got the one that tickled your fancy. I know your feeling, selling stuff off for a new bass. I just picked up my new natural finish, maple fingerboard, SR5. This is it for me in terms of high basses for at least six or seven years. Unlike you, the is no real chance of my playing paying any real money at anytime in the future. :bassist:

Very cool. I've been very happy with the piezos in both of my 5 string Bongos, and my single H Bongo will also have the Piezos.

In person, the radiance red is about as rock star a finish as you can get, so you should really dig it.

Sweet. I think red's a great color for a bass. Unless I'm wearing a red or orange shirt, my trans red 6-string looks good against any color.

And I hear you on the selling lots of stuff to fund a bass. I sold a ton of beloved rare and/or import video games on Ebay to buy my 6-string bass and Ashdown amp.

And, heh, I'll be foaming at the mouth till magic day arrives. :p

I've been playing a borrowed 4 string Bongo with the single coil - I much prefer that pickup to the HB, but it's a very versatile instrument. Sounds like you're gonna have a great bass.
