Either that guys has a good sense of humor or he's a totaly idiot!
Thanks for posting!
fail indeed. now they are ambient air pressure glassless tubes
not quite as eloquent as vacuum tubes
he gets an F
I HAD, not have....vacuum tubes don't work well without the vacuum....
LOL! I'd like to see him try to get them back to working condition
They even covered this clown's listing on Unknown Highway.Com. I couldn't believe it! I just pray that he doesn't find a buyer as clueless as he is in regards to vacuum tubes. It's sure to become a classic on all of the musician and vintage electronics geek talk boards.
ahh, im no scientific wizard, but one assumes that this situation is self explanatory and easily avoided. God bless craigslist
Gah, wish I'd caught this earlier, it's flagged now. I was going to e-mail the guy and ask if he put the vacuum back in when he was done cleaning them.
Another reason to include the text of the ad... must have been priceless
No one saved it did they? I would have loved to read it!
At least he should have used a vacuum cleaner. Everyone knows that.
I used to take dead tubes apart as a kid - the innards *are* fascinating...
