I cleaned my strings

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by Bassman_Spike, Nov 22, 2003.

  1. Hey

When i got my bass lookes at after i bought it the guy at the shop said i should clean my strings. He said the best way to do it wasnt to boil them but to put them in the sink with the hottest possilbe water from the tap and also put some detergent in the water to clean off the gunk.
So i did this and put the string back on and it sounds great. They sound a lot brighter than the old ones but really bright like brand new strings.
Anyways thought you all might like to know about that

For the billionth time, boiling water kills your strings.

Just use alcohol (at room temperature) if you want to clean your string.
