I sold my Jazz bass bought a guitar!

Epiphone Les Paul 1960 Tribute Plus. According to internet folklore, the best Les Paul for the money worldwide. Mahogany body and neck with deep set neck joint, rosewood fingerboard, full maple cap with flamed maple veneer, Gibson USA 57 Classic humbuckers, Grover locking tuners, Swiftcraft switch and jack, full size CTS volume pots, and push/pull tone pots for series/parallel pickup switching.

As usual it looked like doodoo when I picked it up. It appears the previous owner never cleaned it, ever! I may have gotten Tetanus by just looking at the strings. But I picked it up anyways. I could not pass it up for the price, specially since they’re discontinued.

I just finished cleaning it all up and giving it a setup. Looking mighty fine now.

Anyone else have one of these?

It has too many strings and they look really small. ;)

I had not touched a guitar in a few years and that’s exactly the same comment I made to the wife. :roflmao: I broke the high E string stretching it out, and it felt like I was hardly pulling it.

I don’t see what the big deal is; I’ve got three Epi’s...a red Firebird, white 3-pickup SG, and white hollowbody P3.
I also have acoustics, 12 string electric, lap steel, small keyboards, mandolin, bass uke, harmonica, upright stick bass...tried my hand at pedal steel...I’ve never understood this phobia of playing other instruments, guitar in particular. But bass was my first instrument.

I bought a €10 red sparkle "kid's guitar", and turned it into a "mini bass vi". I haven't found a tuning that works yet. Intonation is all over the place.

(I had to retaper the E string)

I have 3 guitars and 3 ukes but they get hardly any play cuz I'm all about those fat-stringers. Whenever I have an urge to play, I find myself reaching for a bass.

Just yesterday I was listening with admiration to Les Paul copy with those mods. In series - so all 4 coils in one series - it was :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot:

    I have a Tele, a uke, a violin, a piano, a drumset, maracas...

I can play them all passably, but bass is definitely my primary.

I like to play music, so I like to have a lot of instruments around.

Yeah, me neither. I think it's either in jest, or they have an inferiority complex.

  17. Nice!

Nothing wrong with not being restricted to bass ;) Since we started being unable to gig, back in March, I've bought 3 guitars :D

A PRS SE, and two Telecasters: first a cheap but very nice SX, and then I saw this limited edition Squier Classic Vibe in metallic purple and I just had to (arriving around the 9th of December).

You must retain a 10:1 bass to guitar ratio. You do have at least 10 basses don’t you?
