  1. Now which one?! Here are a couple. Now, my dad said he can't spend that much. So here's my Wish list.

    Ashdown MAG300H Amplifier head

    Hartke 2500 Bass Amplifier Head

Behringer BX3000T Ultrabass 300W Bass Head

    G-K Backline 350 2-Channel Bass Head

Peavey Max 160 160W Bass Head

I'm leaning on the Peavey since it has the best reviews so far.

You have to tell us a little more. Like, what type of music do you play? What bass are you going to be running with? What cabinet are you using?

  3. sorry. I have an Alvarez 4 string bass. I cannot remember the model. I got it used. I'm using a Laney PL65 cab

What ohm is the cab that you have?

I'd say go with the ashdown, i think it's the most versitle head out of all you listed, and its 300 watts @ 4ohms. Which means if the laney cab you have is 4 ohms then you would get the total 300 watts. If your cab is 8ohms then you would only get about 150-200 watts out of it, but you would be able to plug another 8 ohm cab in it.

My vote is for the ashdown.

  5. +1. :)

  6. its 8 ohm I believe. I dont really need the full 300 watts. I'll will probably add another 8 ohm cab to it in the future.

Are you sure that the Laney PL65 is even a bass cab? I did a google search in this cab and the only thing that came up were references to guitar and acoustic guitar cab.

Are you sure the Laney PL65 is a cab? I thought the Pro Linebacker series were combo guitar amps. To properly use a head, you need a bass speaker cabinet to go with it.

cabinet or not...go for the Ashdown! Better quality and better sound!

  10. My uncle gave me the cab awhile back. He told me it would play a bass head. My uncle has been playing abss for 7 years. He upgraded his rig, and he gave me the cab. So, I'm ganna trust him.
