i dont know much about strings. HELP!

  1. ok so i dont know much about strings and i have a couple of questions..

    what does string gauge determine??? does it affect sound?

    whats the difference between pure nickel and stainless????

    what do u think of taperwound strings?

    what do u think of faltwound strings??

    please help me

  3. thank u that hlep me a lot...i think ill like the warm sound of the pure nickel roundwounds...

    do u anything about gauges?

    Gauge refers to the string diameter, typically in inches (or fractions of).

    A 45 G string is .045 of an inch etc.

    I used to think that but my strings defnitely dont have a diameter that big. Maybe its circumference?

    It's diameter.
     
  7. I'm pretty sure it's diameter. 0.045 of an inch seems right for a g string
