I stumbled upon this page, and enjoyed all of it immensely, partly because there's video clips of Bobby Vega (aka 'Bobzilla') playing. I've also recently been trying to research acoustic basses, so this fit the bill perfect. Mr. Ribbecke seems to know his Sh#*!

ANyways, check out the 'halfling' bass! On the bottom right of the page you can also check out video clips of Bobby playing and hear/see Mr. Ribbecke talk about his construction of the halfling. There is also a nice video at the sections entitled "Halfling Bass DVD in bassics magazine". I eat this kind of stuff up, hope you do too.

    Hopefully this isn't considered 'spam'.
    P.s. (they're kinda pricey though :eyebrow: )

Wow, very cool basses. Thanks for pointing these out. The vids of Bobby Vega are especially great!

The only time I saw him live was when he played in KVHW, and he was awesome. Him and Steve Kimock together is just flat out incredible stuff.
In one video, there's Bobby jamming with a guitar player. IN the middle of the clip, master jedi Ribbecke goes on to talk about his 'construction' of the halfling bass, and then when he switches to the guitar, he totally whacks the two instruments together.....you know that had to hurt!
I was laughing my ass off, anyway.
