I Fabricated my own pedal board (Also NPD)

Discussion in 'Effects [BG]' started by Pizza1988, Aug 25, 2020.

  1. I'm not really an FX user, but I have some pedals either for fun or other random reasons. I made the board out of steel but at 16" long, it really isn't that heavy. I really don't plan on lugging it around too much (yet, at least).

    Setting up

A few short welds is all it took

I used some expanded metal for the top for mounting method and it looks cool

    Finished before paint

Finished after paint and pedals set up

The NPD is for the Snake Bite Reverb pedal at the end. Such an awesome pedal for the price. I was gonna get the MXR Reverb until I stumbled across the Caline. I can get a good variety out of it. Not shown: MXR DC Brick power supply attached underneath.

This was a fun little project overall and might add LEDs to the underside to shine through the top. I have plenty of spots on the power source to plug them right into that.

Let me know how wrong the chain order is

i don't know anything about your "chain order" but your welding skills are certainly in order! nice job, congrats!

Nice welds but I wouldn't want to drop it on my foot or stub my toe on it! The expanded metal is a good idea; makes routing cable much easier.

  4. Thank you!

It all sounds good together so it will stay that way anyway haha

  5. I already kicked it barefoot :rage: :roflmao: I won't walk by it in the dark again lol

I basically used a velcro roll to strap to the metal and put strips on the bottom of the pedals. I was gonna use zip ties but it wasn't working as planned.

What's the pedal to the right of the Snake Bite?
  7. It's a Bass Fuzz that my guitarist built. It was a kit from some website that sends the parts and schematics that you assemble. The case comes blank so you can paint it or label it as you wish. He wrote goofy stuff on it since he expected me to paint it but I may just leave it haha

Cool, I'd love to find out what type of circuit it is.
  9. So this is where he got it from:
DIY Guitar Effects Pedal and Amplifier Kits (not at all affiliated)

Maybe you can find out from the site. I'm bad with electronic components so I haven't the slightest clue :roflmao:

He did mention a few other sites he found to have more variety and stock available so there must be plenty out there.

Nicely done. I really dig the industrial look of that board.

Who knows - there could be a little bit of a market for that.

  14. Nice. I like the mesh surface for cables and ties. Also looks like it would be useful if your band gets involved in a bar fight.
