I finally found the tone I like, but I don't have it! And I dont know how to get it!

    Hey I was checking out the Aguilar web site. And the tone of the bass they have on their site is about 99% what I want (not that style of music though)

    I understand Aguilar is quite exspensive. But could someone please explain what it is that makes it sound so good? So basically I love the sound but I don't know what I like about it :) Is it because it is tube or what? And what are ways to aquire this tone with other equipment?

    Oh yeah its the tone on the site when you are looking at everything - not in the intro ;)

    Thanx Munjibunga! I didn't think anyone would actually go through the hassle to listen to it. Now I gotta figure out what the heck a Yamaha ne-1 is ;) . But I am getting a SABDDI for Christmas (hopefully)

    the music when you're looking at stuff is gary willis on bass.


    so all you need is a good fretless bass, a hi-fi tube amp, and gary's hands and technique :p

    Did someone say Yamaha Ne-1? I bought one, and everything they say in the ad is true. It takes a regular bass, and let's you fool around with the mids to the point of getting either hard as steel mids, or wet noodle mids. It is amazing. I highly recommend it.
