  1. I've been eying it for 3 months now but I finally got it. I picked up a Sting sig P-Bass.

Oh, it's fantastic, and it has the funk.

I'll get some pics up for you guys after I figure out how to post them here.

    Achk! I'm so excited.

How deep is the sound? That singular single coil pickup scares me, to be honest. Though people keep buying it, so there has to be some merit. ;)

Sweet Axes.....congrats..i know how u feel.

  7. The pickup suprised me to be honest. I half expected it to be a little thin and lack bottom end, but it does neither!
Very P-Bass sounding and alot of warmth and great lows.

All in all, I'm very happy.

  8. Congrats!

I have the Sting bass and a '51 reissue..........

The Pup is clean, brillant sounding, it has clarity like the low notes on a Piano. You gotta hear it to believe it.

I do not know why, but to my ears, the slap sound from that thing just kills. I don't know how, but I could even dial in a "Yes" type growl in the store! I might have to check that thing out again.

Those two basses should cover most any tone you should ever need.

Is the pickup a single coil design? What about noise?

The output jack is on the side, kind of near the controls...you can see it in the first picture.

Everytime I convince myself that I have enough basses, I play a Sting and have to rethink my conclusion. I did finally play a bad one at Guitar Center the other day, but I've played so many really nice ones.

The other thing about Stings is that while I appreciate the look of sunburst instruments, I never had a desire to own one before playing a Sting.

    Congrats on your new bass!!!!
