Now that I'm done with school, I promised myself a little treat. I'd already picked it out and put it on hold with Luthiers Access Group, but hadn't picked it up until Thursday night!

I haven't been able to put it down! I've always been a 4-stringer, but this is a 6, so I'm definitely making tons of mistakes. Oh well...it's fun getting used to! It's also got a lot more tone controls and switches than my previous main bass, my trusty Spector.

Oh...sorry about this, but I tried posting the pix several times, but for some reason, they won't post.

PS: I'm still tryin' to get the pix posted or a good link...sorry bout that!

    :D

The body is really not that big. The 6-string is a little smaller than my 4-string Spector.

Right now the action is "on the low side", but I haven't figured out how low I want it yet. I tend to like really low action, and I think this has the capability to go a little lower. But, it's such a new world for me, playing 6-string, so I'm not sure how I want it set up yet. BTW: I'm amazed at how "springy" the strings feel!

The sound is unbelievable! It's warm and mellow, but has so many tones, thanks to the Bartolini 3-band preamp, 3-position mid-selector, coil-tap, and active/passive switch. At this point, it takes a lot of thought trying to remember which switch or knob does what.

Yeah, I was joking around (or semi-joking) that my next bass will be a plain ol' ash body, no top...

This bass has more laminates than I can count! Each laminate has a veneer between it and the next one.

    Thats a great looking bass.

    Questions...

    How's the weight?
Top heavy or does it balance well?
