IMAG0266. I'm kind of meh about it. I like the kid's work, but this just doesn't do anything for me. It's a cool bass and all, but I'm not doing the medium scale thing anymore. So I wasn't planning on playing it much anyway. I think my brother is trying to talk his wife into hanging it on the wall.

That would be an amazing design for a scarf for Shirley Jones. No so sure about it on a bass though....

I had this bass listed here in the classifieds before and there was zero interest. Actually, I bought this bass from TB classifieds, and it sat around for months then. I've given up hope trying to sell this.

As an artist myself, I appreciate the work he put into it, and with all black hardware it just might flesh it out some. I like it :)

No attempt to relate pattern to form. He should start studying for an accounting degree now.

I'm too insecure in my manhood to play something with a flower on it. :D

Although where the flower is placed, I don't think you'd even see it when it's being played. :)

Meh. Does nothing for me. Not a good design for the space and when you look close, it's sloppily executed.

  19. Several things : felt myself as a
    1) As a musician, I am happy that we are not considered artists. I think most of us are craftsmen and this means something, certainly more than self-proclaimed artist.
    2) Whatever its look, this is still a BASS. Please re-install hardware, pick-ups and electronics and, if it doesn't sell, give it to a kid around you (you have certainly a future TBer in your surrouding). IMHO, the look of a bass has not much importance as long as it is playable.
    3) IMHO again, a tool should be a piece of art by fullfilling what it has been designed for and, if well designed, does not need unnecessary ornamentation (Reference to Raymond Loewy, the "father of industrial design" as said in the website dedicated to him).
    4) Let this bass keep on working, if decent.
Sorry for my globish English. This is not my mother tongue.

I give it an A for effort (the lines are straight, and the burst of red over the yellow is consistent), but the design:
    a) does nothing for me
    b) doesn't fit the body of the bass, and
    c) does nothing for me

    d) did I mention it does nothing for me?

I'd put it back together and if it plays well maybe give it a rattlecan finish in a solid color, maybe black to somewhat match the headstock? Or, give it to an aspiring bass player you know.

And I think you're being generous with the term artist...
