I get to play through a 1970 SVT this weekend!!!

    It belongs to my guitar player who is also a bass player. He just had it re tubed and an adapter made so it will work with a 1/4 inch jack on a speaker cable. I'm interested to hear what it sounds like since alot of players consider this the end all and be all of bass amps. Since I've always played Ampeg SS amps except for my brief encounter with the SVT3pro. It'll be interesting to hear this amp.

    what did it have before, RCA plugs, a.k.a. phono plugs?

    Way to go man! I haven't had the privelege of hearing an SVT in person (let alone playing one) yet.
  4. The original ones had 4 pin XLR speaker outs. They had a reason that I don't remember, now....

    cb56, I think you'll dig it. The SS Ampeg stuff has a hint of the SVT sound. I think if you like the SS Ampegs, you'll love the SVT. I love mine!

    I own a '70 SVT with original 810 cab. It's still the best bass amp ever made, IMO.
