i got a active fender jazz bass 5 string and.....

    my low strings seem to sound low when im slapping... my high strings sound fine...nice and bright and loud..but my e and b string is not comin through all the way...there are 5 knobs on the bass and i dont know what all of them are ment for...you got the dynamics knob,bass,treble, and mid...i know about bass and treble..but is there any pedal i can get that will help my low strings come out...thanks

    tewksbury ma usa iam a hick,
    here's a few thing u can do to ur bass, rasie the picups on the bass side(e and b stringside), u mite not be slaping hardeoung,or poping to hard.u mite need compression. also the controls on ur bass are this, volume for neck,volume for bridge, then bass mid treble.

    and how do i raise the pickups... they got little silver circles in them and on the b string they are pushed all the way down...is that what youy talking about?

    dude you gotta get a small screw driver, and loosen the screws a bit not to much, or you pickup will shake, and youll get this wierd buzz when the strings hit the pickup.. so id say about .5 of a cm would do you high enough
