Ok, as a few of you know, I'm in the Army, and I play bass in a small band. Well, word of this whole band thing got to my company XO today and now I, and the other 3 members of the band, are under direct orders to come and 'entertain' the rest of the company tommorow afternoon.

Should prove interesting, as we've only rehearsed together a few times and have never played live together. Heck, the last time ANY of us played live was over 10 years ago. As I said, should prove interesting.

Ahhhhh, the Army. I remember it fondly...

Good luck! Of course, you'll let us know how it turned out?

When I was in the Marines in 1968, a Major ordered me to cut off my moustache. That's the last time I cut it off. I wish he'd've ordered me to play in a band to entertain the troops, instead. Of course we'd've totally sucked, since I didn't start playing bass until 1977.

Well, what turnd out to be just a rehearsal with an audience, went well. We did one cover and the few originals we've written. Many compliments came our way. The only negative comment was that the vocals couldn't be heard too well over the instruments. Oh well, live and learn, I guess.

A few of the guys in the company even went to their rooms and grabbed their own guitars to come down and jam. Was actually kinda cool. We'll probably be doing this again sometime in the future.
