Hey, I had to sell my Ray because I needed money, and as Rays sell new for ~ $1500 in germany, I was able to sell my Ray for $1200 (hehe I bought it for $850). And now, I own this bass: Used Warwick Streamer LX 5 in mint condition (its better than mint). Translucent red over Solid Quilted Maple Body, 3-Band Bart E.Q., MEC SingleCoils. The Bass sounds, play incredible, especially the E.Q. is great. I´m really happy with it and it makes a great match for my trans-red Yamaha RBX6JM ! David
I second the welcome to the club (I have a ray 5 as well). I dont normally like red finishes but the combination with the maple has made me a convert. Remember, to play it a lot.
Now we are family man!!! Congratulations.. So does the MEC 3 way perform a lot better than the 2 way? I dont seem to like the 2 Way too much,it muddies up the sound and makes the highs too harsh.
Well, no mud with my Warwick, just very clean, cutting tone. I first thought that it wasn´t really suitable for the music I played when I played at the store I found it at, but after fiddling with the controls a little bit, I found a great tone, it now sounds like John Myungs tone on "Falling Into Infinity", which I didn´t expect from a J/J Pickup config. Anyways, a little tweaking and its got really growly mids... David
I knew the 3 band was a lot better.... Well, I will put a Basslines STC3A there anyway. Lets ask for our threads to be merged... after all we got warwick basses almost together and they are almost the same type. Hehehe
*lol* and we play pretty much the same music, have pretty much the same influences, and you´re WAY older then I ;-). I thought about a Pickup Upgrade, too, but for me, the bass sounds totally perfect now, also in Band Situation. I just recorded the bass straight into my Behringer Mixer in my little "Studio" (Behringer Mixer, Roland Synth, Quaisimidi Synth, Logic Audio Sequencer, Pentium IV 1,6 GHZ System - I´m doing some house/funk/elektro stuff just for fun as well as some progressive trance (please don´t laugh, I like doing it)) The Bass Sounded great even directly recorded with everything flat. Hell, I always thought the Ray sounded great... David
Hey!! You are only 3 Years 11 Months 1 Day Younger!! And btw, I like Trance music, specially stuff like Astral Projection for example.
Dude! I love Astral Projection! What's the name of the song where the guy is reading the first chapter of Genesis?
Sorry to hear that. No, kidding aside, that's a nice looking NS-5 you got there. Really. It's a beautiful bass. The gold looks great w/the trans-red & quilted body. I always liked no markers on the fretboard. Congrats.
So you guys are into trance right, then please visit www.jco-music.de an then click music --> trance and download the song "When we rise" The guy who does the music is a very good friend + a great musician. David
A I forgot. The thing may get sims LEDs in... guess... RED pretty soon, but with an on / off switch. David
Sims? Grrr. The benefits of living there... In the future.. (when I get another Warwick) I wil definetly get it with Green or Blue Leds with a custom lit Infinity Inlay at the 12th Fret.
Das ist ja ganz geil,Mensch!!! That`s one badass bass my freind!I honestly thought it was a Spector at first glance. Warwicks are kewl,I just can`t quite cope with the thick necks. Viel Spass beim Warwickspielen Dave!
