I have an Ampeg Svt II-p. I have a feeling it's not grounded properly du to a noise I get sometimes. but i really don't know how to go about fixing it. Unfortunatly i don't have the owner's manual to answer my plea, but I was hoping someone here may have the brilliance I need. thank you so much and I wish all you superfly bassplayas peace and goodwill.
naw man, there's a little screw in the back that that has an arrow made up of horizontal lines pointing down. Home stereo recievers that allow a record player have one of these since old record players recuire their ground wire to be attatched to it. If not, they face the problem of that "noise," only much overwhelming. so I think there is just a matter of ajusting it somehow, but I don't want to make it worse and break my rig in the process. Then I will have to go to the dreaded repair shop. It's like going to the doctor's, i don't want to unless I have to. Thank though, I appreciate your input man, and peace be unto you.
It could just be a microphonic tube.Have you had the tubes checked yet?Tube amps are finnicky that way.
yeah I checked out the ampeg website, they have the manual for the SVT2 Pro amp but nothing on the SVT II-P preamp, and as for the tubes I am definatly going to have to check them out but I wanted to make sure the grounding was all set up properly before I messed with the tubes. Thank you guys all very much for your imput I hope to hear some more from y'all. Peace
