I guess price ISN'T everything..

  1. I went to the music store the other day to play my PRS Bass that I have on lay away through a couple of different amps... I played through a 100 watt Fender Bassman and a Mesa Boogie that was 2 1/2 times the cost of the Fender. What struck me as weird was that the Fender Bassman sounded 10X better then the Mesa Boogie. I started out with the EQ flat on both amps, and then I tweaked them to my liking. And still the Fender Bassman sounded much better... I only used one bass, but still I learned an important lesson... price IS NOT everything.

When it comes you "your sound", your ears don't lie.
  3. Oh yes, this is a lesson to be remembered for everything in life. What I've learned especially about musical stuff is; pay no attention to the price tag (unless it's way over your head ) and listen to other's advice to expand your frame of reference, but go with your gut feeling. Also, once in a while, check out something that you think you won't like. You may get surprised.
