what do I put in it?

I have a 4-space rack that has a Furman, a 1U preamp, a 1U power amp, and a wireless receiver that uses a half of a rack space.

So, I have a hole in my rack that is 1U high and half a rack wide. Anyone have any recommendations of a box that will fill the hole that I absolutely can't live without.

BTW, here is a pic of my rack:

    No effects ?
A Boss VF-1 would fit perfectly.

Hmmmm, never been big on effects, but I'll look into those. Do you use one?

  4. Well, I guess you could put a tuner in there, but I don't think there's anything that you really NEED at all. Save your money.

FMR RNC 1773 compressor? It's only a 1/3 rackspace unit so you'd have 1/6 of a rackspace left.

    I wish I could put a tuner in there, but I haven't found a half-space tuner. :(

How's that soundtech work for bass? I've always been interested but never took the plunge.

It works great for me. I've used it to drive my stack (Hartke 115XL and MusicMan HD-210). I have heard mixed reviews from other people, but I haven't had any troubles with it.

Boy, what a mope. You don't have a half empty rack space, you have one that's half full!

    ;)

Those handheld tuners don't thrill me. I was really hoping to find something that will fill the empty space. That is the biggest thing that bugs me is that I have this gaping hole in my rack. Hmmmm, maybe it is time to go over to Tap Plastics and see if they can cut me some plastic to fill the empty hole.

How about a high-quality DI, like the Raven Labs APD1?
Guaranteed it will improve both your recoded and live sound.

i'd either get that, or a raven labs MDB-1. can plug 3 basses in at once, adjust all their levels seperately, has its own effects loop and DI, can mute everything at once or each channel individually. i couldn't live without mine anymore :)

Hmmmmm, the MDB-1 is an interesting idea. I've been using my wireless for gigs, but I do keep a cable handy just in case. Maybe I could run the wireless into one channel of the mixer and then I can have the other channels available for backups. That is a very interesting idea.

    Thanks.

Boss made a half rack tuner several years ago. You may be able to find a used one on either www.musicgoround.com or ebay.
