When I was 12 in 1982 I got turned on to Rush. I had an older family friend, a bass player named David Harbour who played in the 80's with Jeff Chastain and a few others....anyway...our dads were friends and I used to go to Davids house and here him play his Rics along with Rush albums....I have wanted a JG and MG Ric just like David had back when I was a kid.....welll it only took 30 years..... but I have them none the less and my 17 year old bass playing son is so excited too!
Wow, awesome basses!! Rush has gotten me interested in Rickenbacker basses since I got my first bass. I hope I can find one someday!
now if I really want to fork over some serious dough.....I would love to find a vintage 4001... I had a 1978 4001 when I was a kid.... but the frets were non existant and a fretjob was nowhere to be seen in my 17 year old budget
Congratulations on your much-delayed gratification! I have a bass-playing nephew who just loves my 2010 MG 4003. Between him and my son, I could never sell it if I wanted to - they both think it's the coolest in my arsenal.
Congrats! I had the same GAS and finally got two Ric's myself. One, a 2009 FireGlo, I will never sell (God willing!)
