I want to thank all of you who offered advice on my search for a P-bass (THIS LINK). Several have emailed me asking if I had made a decision. Well, I found what I was searching for this past weekend at the Dallas Guitar Show. After spending 2 hours walking the rows and seeing many really bad and really expensive "vintage" basses ('64 P-bass, refinished with a paint brush, poor sound, $6000!!!), I was almost ready to leave when I found the Bass Palace booth. Wow! A bass lover's dream!

And there it was - a '74 P-bass. Natural Ash finish in 9 out of 10 condition. Still had the hang tags. The case looked practically new. One owner who played it and took great care of it. I just couldn't pass it up.

Made a great deal and left with the bass.

How does it sound? Like a great ol' '70s P-bass! And like nothing else I own. Very cool.

    And, here she is:

I had a '76 that looked exactly the same. It was a really nice bass & you're looks better than some new floor modles I've played in Sam Ash/Guitar Center!!!!!

I am beginning to think we need to do an intervention for you....

    You have a sickness...

How many total basses does that make now?

Beautiful bass, by the way, as are all of your others.

You know, I really like the white. Maybe 'cause I had one just about like it back in the late '70s. I do see how a brown tort could look good.

Don - please wait at least 6 months before the intervention... I should be done by then. ;)

Hey, I sold the Zon, right??!
