I have been thinking for a while about possibly installing a pbass pup in the neck positon of my p bass.

i would use an old one that i have.

i would install it to the left of the middle pickup.

    heres a pic for reference:

i was just wondering how it would sound.

and if i do it, should it be volume/volume/tone or volume/tone.

all help and feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks in advance,

  2. im lost, you want to put one P pickup off center right below the neck?

if thats what your going for, i would suggest having the new pickup and the E string side of the old pickups wired on separate volume pots, with the G string side wired to both, that way you could (potentially) switch between the neck and bridge positions...in a sense

would it work....yes if you wired it right, is it worth it, no clue, i dont think its really been done, you might have a problem with resistance by splitting up the P bass pickups though

^^Yea i wana put it center right of the neck, so its between the 20th fret and the middle pickup.

and the idea of pickup selecting sounds pretty kool.

so if i do pup selecting would it be volume/volume/tone and the selecter.
