Nice amp at a good price, considering you'd have to dish out about $1500 for a new one. What cab are you using with it?

I traded my classic for an SVT-II non pro a few months ago, and I think it might even be heavier than your classic - I gotta figure out a good way to move that beast without killing myself. Sure does sound killer, though!

    Congrats - the classic is....classic.

    I'm using a 410he and a 1015he. Both 8 ohm Ampegs of course.
Thanks.I've older SVT's in the past and after going through a few different brands and models I decided nothing else would make me happy.
  5. I thought you were talking about the PRE! Imagine MY surprise! :D

Cheers to you and your SVT!

    Great Choice - Congrats!
  7. Just wondering, how do you find your SVT-II in comparison to the classic? i found it to have just a nicer fuller sound

And the classic is 80lbs, where the SVT-II is 85lbs (without a rack case)

I may soon be sticking mine in a 67.2 lb road ready case, they really arent that heavy stop complaining :p

That's a great sounding head. Heavy as heck, but well worth it. Someday I'll have an all-tube amp again.

Congrats on winning the Ebay bid.

Thats a great sounding head. The more I mess around with tube heads especially Ampeg tube heads, the more GAS I get.

    Enjoy it.

Is the amp in the picture running without a cab connected? :eyebrow:

Very nice find.. and price! I've got an SVT-4 on my watch list now.. I'm thinking of trying it compared to my SVT-3.. but I just found out that the SVT-4 has fewer tubes in the pre-amp than the 3... so unless I need to extra watts.. I may just for get it.. Price will be the ultimate decided I guess..

Again, nice find! distortion free 300W that one has?
